Hello!  I’m Matt Hanczor and this is my portfolio website.

I recently received my Master of Science in Robotics at Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Computer Science.  I was a member of the Field Robotics Center in the Robotics Institute.

My masters thesis research focused on reducing the number of expert queries required to learn competent policies with imitation learning by improving state-of-the-art imitation learning algorithms.

In addition, I was granted a fellowship from the Department of Energy to pursue research regarding  issues that surround the US nuclear complex.  Under this grant I developed robots for inspecting gaseous diffusion piping, and investigated using adaptive information gathering with deep reinforcement and imitation learning to improve radioactive source localization.  I was advised by Professor Red Whittaker.

I am looking for positions in machine learning research and engineering, especially as applied to robotics and autonomous systems.

Please see my full resume here.
